Double Smash Burger with Bacon, Cheese & Spicy Cream Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:
1 lb ground beef (80/20)
Salt and black pepper
Cooking spray or a bit of neutral oil
For the Burger Build:
4 slices crispy bacon
2 sesame seed burger buns, toasted
4 slices American or cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
For the Spicy Cream Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp sriracha or hot sauce
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp pickle juice
½ tsp garlic powder
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Make the Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, sriracha, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, and salt.
Chill until ready to use.
Cook the Bacon:
In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Smash the Patties:
Divide beef into 4 equal balls (¼ lb each).
Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle until very hot.
Place balls on the skillet, press down firmly with a spatula to flatten thin.
Season with salt and pepper. Cook 2–3 minutes, flip, add cheese, and cook another 1–2 minutes.
Toast the Buns:
Spread butter on buns and toast cut-side down on the skillet until golden brown.
Assemble:
Spread spicy sauce on both bun halves.
Layer bottom bun with shredded lettuce, one cheesy patty, bacon, second patty, and top bun.
Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
