Air Fryer Sausage Patties

Yields: 6 patties
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10-12 minutes

Equipment:

Air Fryer

Ingredients:

1 pound ground chicken (or a mix of white and dark meat for more flavor)
½ teaspoon herb and garlic seasoning (or your preferred seasoning blend)
2 tablespoons diced shallot
2 tablespoons diced jalapeño (remove ribs and seeds for less spice)
1 teaspoon jarred minced garlic
¼ teaspoon salt (if your seasoning blend doesn't contain salt)
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions:

Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix the ground chicken, herb and garlic seasoning, shallot, jalapeño, minced garlic, salt (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using) by hand until well combined.
Form Patties: Form the meat mixture into 6 round sausage patties.
Prepare Air Fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
Cook Patties: Arrange the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping once halfway through the cooking time, until cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Serve: Serve the sausage patties immediately.

Notes:

Meat Choices: Use white meat ground chicken for leaner patties, or a mix of white and dark meat for more flavor.
Spice Level: Remove the ribs and seeds from the jalapeño for a milder flavor. Leave some seeds in if you prefer more spice. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
Smoking: If your air fryer starts to smoke, add a couple of tablespoons of water to the bottom of the tray that collects the grease.
Make-Ahead and Freezing: You can make the patties ahead of time and freeze them until ready to cook. Cook from frozen by adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time. Leftovers can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Batch Cooking: You can easily double this recipe and cook the patties in batches.
