Biscuits & Gravy Pizza
Ingredients:
- Pizza Dough:
- Store-bought or homemade, about 1 pound
- Gravy:
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toppings:
- 6-8 biscuits, pre-baked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Optional: chopped chives or green onions for garnish
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
2. Prepare Gravy:
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked. Do not drain.
- Reduce heat to low and sprinkle in the flour, stirring until absorbed by the sausage fat.
- Gradually whisk in milk, continuing to stir until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Prepare Pizza:
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
4. Assemble Pizza:
- Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the pizza dough.
- Top with crumbled biscuits.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
5. Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cheese is bubbly.
6. Serve:
- Remove from oven, slice, and garnish with chives or green onions if desired. Serve warm.
