Red Velvet Cupcakes Recipe ❤️🧁
Ingredients
For the Red Velvet Cupcakes:
125g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
100g (½ cup) granulated sugar
50g (¼ cup) brown sugar
60ml (¼ cup) vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp white vinegar
1 tbsp red food coloring
120ml (½ cup) buttermilk (or 120ml milk + ½ tbsp lemon juice, let sit for 5 min)
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
150g (⅔ cup) cream cheese, softened
100g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
250g (2 cups) powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For Garnish:
Red velvet cake crumbs
Sprinkles
Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Cupcakes:
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, and oil until well combined.
Add egg, vanilla, vinegar, and red food coloring, mixing well.
Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk, until smooth.
Divide batter into cupcake liners and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
2️⃣ Make the Cream Cheese Frosting:
Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until fluffy.
Stir in vanilla extract.
3️⃣ Assemble & Decorate:
Pipe the cream cheese frosting on top of each cupcake.
Sprinkle with red velvet crumbs or sprinkles for decoration.
