Simple Vegan Wholesome Quinoa & Chia Crust Pizza Perfect for Pizza Night 🥣🍕
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 cup (185g) cooked quinoa cooled
½ cup (120ml) water
2 tablespoons (30g) chia seeds
½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour or gluten-free blend
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon salt
For the Toppings:
½ cup (120ml) pizza sauce
1 cup (100g) vegan shredded cheese optional
Your favorite pizza vegetables like bell peppers onions mushrooms olives etc.
Directions:
1 Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a pizza pan or baking sheet with parchment paper.
2 In a medium bowl whisk together the water and chia seeds. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until a gel forms.
3 Add the cooked quinoa flour baking powder garlic powder oregano and salt to the chia gel mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
4 Wet your hands slightly and press the dough evenly onto the prepared pizza pan or baking sheet forming a crust about ¼ inch (0.6 cm) thick. You can make a round or rectangular shape.
5 Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes or until it is firm and lightly golden around the edges.
6 Remove the crust from the oven. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the crust leaving a small border for the edge.
7 Sprinkle with vegan cheese if using then add your desired vegetable toppings.
8 Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the toppings are heated through.
9 Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
