STEAK BITES & CREAMY PARMESAN FUSILLI IN CAJUN SAUCE
Ingredients:
For the Steak Bites:
1.5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
Salt & black pepper to taste
For the Creamy Cajun Parmesan Sauce:
12 oz fusilli pasta
1 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Cajun seasoning
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup milk
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1¼ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
1. Cook the Fusilli:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fusilli pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving ½ cup of the pasta water.
2. Sear the Steak Bites:
While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season steak bites with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Add steak bites to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Creamy Cajun Parmesan Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in Cajun seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt.
Pour in the heavy cream and milk. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth.
Add Parmesan and mozzarella, stirring until the sauce is creamy and cheesy. If the sauce is too thick, stir in reserved pasta water a little at a time.
4. Combine and Serve:
Toss the cooked fusilli pasta into the sauce and stir to coat completely. Add the seared steak bites back into the skillet and gently stir everything together.
Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to bring all the flavors together.
Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top and serve hot!
