Christmas Santa Suit Sugar Cookie Cutouts

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For decorating:

Royal icing (red and white)
Food coloring (red and green)
Black food coloring gel
Small candy eyes
Red sugar sprinkles
Instructions:

Make the dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Cream the butter and sugar: In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Combine wet and dry ingredients: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Roll and cut: Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use Christmas-themed cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
Bake: Place the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
Decorate: Use royal icing to decorate the cookies as Santa suits. Use red icing for the suit, white icing for the trim, and black gel for the belt and boots. Add candy eyes for the face.
Tips:

For a stronger flavor, you can add a teaspoon of almond extract to the dough.
To make the cookies extra festive, you can add red and green food coloring to the dough.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
Enjoy these festive and delicious cookies!
