Shrimp Boil Recipe
Ingredients:
4 quarts water
3–4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning (or more, to taste)
1 lemon, quartered
1 lb baby red potatoes (or Yukon Gold potatoes), halved if large
3 ears of corn, cut into thirds
1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
1½ lbs large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (leave tails on for presentation)
For Serving:
4 tablespoons butter, melted
Chopped fresh parsley
Lemon wedges
Additional Old Bay seasoning
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Boil:
In a large stockpot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil over high heat.
Add Old Bay seasoning and lemon quarters. Let it boil for 3–5 minutes to infuse the water.
2. Cook the Potatoes and Corn:
Add the baby potatoes to the pot and boil for about 10 minutes, or until they start to become tender.
Add the corn and smoked sausage to the pot and boil for an additional 5 minutes.
3. Cook the Shrimp:
Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 2–3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Be careful not to overcook.
4. Drain and Serve:
Drain the water and discard the lemon quarters.
Transfer the shrimp boil to a large platter or spread it out on a newspaper-covered table for a fun presentation.
5. Add Finishing Touches:
Drizzle the melted butter over the shrimp boil.
Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Old Bay seasoning.
Serve with lemon wedges and crusty bread for dipping into the buttery sauce.
