Holiday Macaron Trees with Strawberry & Matcha White Chocolate Ganache 🎄🍓
Ingredients:
Macaron Shells:
1 cup almond flour
1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
3 large egg whites, room temperature
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Green and pink gel food coloring
Strawberry & Matcha White Chocolate Ganache:
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup heavy cream, divided
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tbsp freeze-dried strawberry powder
Instructions:
Prepare the Macaron Shells:
Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together into a bowl, ensuring there are no lumps.
In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, gradually adding granulated sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form.
Divide the mixture into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one and pink to the other. Fold gently until evenly colored.
Transfer each batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
Let the shells sit for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Bake for 12-15 minutes, then let cool completely.
Make the Strawberry & Matcha White Chocolate Ganache:
Heat 2 tbsp of heavy cream until just warm. Add matcha powder and stir until smooth.
In another bowl, heat the remaining cream and add the strawberry powder.
Divide white chocolate chips equally, pouring each warm cream mixture over its portion.
Stir until smooth and creamy, then let cool to thicken slightly.
Assemble the Macaron Trees:
Pair green and pink macaron shells of similar sizes.
Pipe a layer of strawberry ganache on the bottom shell and top with matcha ganache.
Stack three macarons of descending sizes to form a Christmas tree shape.
Decorate:
Optionally, dust the macaron trees with edible glitter or a touch of powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
