Caprese Panini
Ingredients:
2 ciabatta rolls (or any other crusty bread of your choice)
2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)
4 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
2 large tomatoes, sliced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
Balsamic glaze (optional for drizzling)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the panini: Slice the ciabatta rolls in half lengthwise. Drizzle each inside with a little olive oil to add flavor and crispness during grilling.
Assemble the panini: On the bottom half of each roll, layer slices of fresh mozzarella, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Top with the other half of the roll.
Grill the panini: Heat a panini press or a grill pan over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwiches on the grill and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the mozzarella is melted.
Finishing touches: Once the panini is ready, remove from the grill and drizzle with a little balsamic glaze for a sweet, tangy kick.
Serve: Slice the panini in half and serve immediately, with the warm, gooey mozzarella and fresh, vibrant flavors of the tomatoes and basil.
This Caprese Panini is a fantastic combination of flavors—creamy mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fresh basil, all perfectly balanced with a light drizzle of balsamic. It’s simple, satisfying, and delicious!
