🍗 Cheesy Chicken Noodle Casserole 🧀
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works great!)
12 oz egg noodles (or pasta of choice)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup frozen peas (optional)
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
1 tbsp butter (for greasing the casserole dish)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter and set aside.
Cook the noodles: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the egg noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
Prepare the sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and milk. Stir until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the chicken and noodles: Add the shredded chicken, cooked noodles, and peas (if using) to the sauce mixture. Stir everything together until evenly coated.
Assemble the casserole: Pour the chicken and noodle mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and the casserole is bubbly.
