🍁 Maple Cookies with Maple Glaze 🍪
Ingredients
For the Cookies:
2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 large egg + 1 yolk
1/3 cup (80ml) pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Maple Icing:
1 1/2 cups (180g) powdered sugar
3 tbsp pure maple syrup
1-2 tbsp milk or cream
1/4 tsp maple extract (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
Prep & Mix Dry Ingredients:
Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter & Sugars:
Beat butter and both sugars until light and fluffy (2-3 mins).
Add egg, yolk, maple syrup, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
Combine & Chill:
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing just until combined.
Cover and chill dough 30 mins (to prevent spreading).
Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop 1.5-tbsp dough balls onto lined baking sheets, spacing 2" apart.
Bake 9–11 mins until edges are golden but centers are soft. Cool 5 mins on sheets, then transfer to a rack.
Glaze:
Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and 1 tbsp milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed for a drizzle-able consistency.
Dip cooled cookies tops into glaze or drizzle with a spoon. Let set 15 mins.
