Copycat Lofthouse Cookies

Ingredients:

- 6 cups plus 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, divided

Frosting:

- 4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 2 to 4 drops food coloring, optional
- 2 tablespoons sprinkles, optional

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 6 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.

2. Add vanilla extract, confectioners' sugar, salt, and heavy cream. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
3. If desired, add food coloring and mix until evenly tinted.
4. Spread frosting over cooled cookies and decorate with sprinkles if using.
5. Allow frosting to set before serving.
