Amish Sloppy Joe Pasta Bake
Ingredients:
1. 1 lb ground beef
2. 12 oz pasta (elbow macaroni or rotini)
3. Onion & green bell pepper
4. 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
5. 1/2 cup ketchup
6. 2 tbsp brown sugar
7. 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
8. 1 tbsp mustard
9. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
10. Salt & black pepper
11. Butter & olive oil
Directions:
Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes
1. Cook the pasta:
1.1. Boil salted water and cook pasta until it's just right. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe mixture:
2.1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet.
2.2. Add ground beef, onion, and green pepper. Cook until beef is browned and veggies are tender. Drain any excess grease.
3. Build the sauce:
3.1. Mix in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
3.2. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until it thickens.
4. Combine pasta and sauce:
4.1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the Sloppy Joe mixture.
4.2. Mix everything together until the pasta is coated evenly.
