🍪 Maple Cookies with Maple Icing 🍪
Ingredients
For the Cookies:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup pure maple syrup (preferably dark amber for stronger flavor)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Maple Icing:

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1–2 teaspoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
1/4 teaspoon maple extract (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Add the maple syrup and mix until well combined. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Combine the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Shape and Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly with the palm of your hand or the bottom of a glass. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
Cool the Cookies: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Icing: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Add the maple extract if using. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk (for thinner icing) or powdered sugar (for thicker icing).
Ice and Serve: Drizzle the icing generously over the cooled cookies. Let the icing set for 10–15 minutes before serving. Enjoy these maple-infused delights with a cup of coffee or tea!
