Grilled Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (1-inch thick)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
For the Mushroom Sauce:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 ½ cups sliced cremini or button mushrooms
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Steaks:
Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over high heat.
Sear steaks 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to desired doneness.
Remove steaks, tent with foil, and rest for 5–7 minutes.
Make the Mushroom Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and olive oil.
Sauté mushrooms until browned (6–8 minutes).
Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
Pour in beef broth and simmer 3–4 minutes.
Stir in cream and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened (5–6 minutes).
Season with salt and pepper.
Assemble:
Slice steaks and plate.
Spoon mushroom sauce generously over top.
Garnish with chopped parsley.
Serve:
Serve hot with sides like mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
