Beef Stir-Fry with Peppers and Noodles
Ingredients:
1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced into strips
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz cooked noodles (lo mein, egg noodles, or spaghetti)
1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thicker sauce)
2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, toss beef strips with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Stir-fry the beef:
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
Sear beef strips quickly until browned but still tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Cook the vegetables:
Add remaining oil to the skillet.
Stir-fry bell peppers, onions, and garlic for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender but crisp.
Combine:
Return beef to the skillet.
Add cooked noodles, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, remaining soy sauce, and toss everything together.
Optional thickening:
If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the skillet. Cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy.
Finish and serve:
Season with salt and pepper.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
Serve hot.
