Soft and Buttery Homemade Rolls

Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
¾ cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
¼ cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)

Directions:

Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture to the flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12-15 equal pieces. Shape into smooth balls and place in a greased baking dish.
Cover and let the rolls rise again for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush warm rolls with melted butter and enjoy!
