Penne Pasta with Creamy Spinach and Italian Sausage
Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
1 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
3 cups fresh spinach
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh basil, for garnish
Directions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned.
Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, then add the penne pasta. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta reaches an al dente texture.
Add the fresh spinach and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the spinach wilts and the cheese melts into a creamy sauce.
