🍕 Sicilian Pizza
Sicilian Pizza is known for its thick, airy crust baked in a rectangular pan, topped with a simple yet flavorful layer of tomato sauce and gooey mozzarella. It’s rustic, hearty, and perfect for sharing with family or friends.
Ingredients
• Pizza dough: 1 lb (450 g), for a thick crust
• Tomato sauce: 1 cup (240 ml)
• Mozzarella: 1½ cups (150 g), shredded
• Olive oil: 2 tbsp
• Dried oregano: 1 tsp
• Salt: a pinch
Instructions
1️⃣ • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2️⃣ • Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle and place on a greased baking sheet.
3️⃣ • Brush dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
4️⃣ • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
5️⃣ • Add shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of oregano.
6️⃣ • Bake for 20–25 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
7️⃣ • Slice into squares and serve hot.
