Pumpkin Cake Pops
Ingredients:
Cake:
- 1 box spice cake mix (or vanilla cake mix)
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- Ingredients as per cake mix instructions (water, oil, eggs)
Frosting:
- 1/2 cup cream cheese frosting
Coating:
- Orange candy melts
- White candy melts
- Green candy melts
- Cake pop sticks
Instructions:
1. Bake the Cake:
- Preheat the oven as per cake mix instructions.
- Mix the spice cake mix with canned pumpkin, water, oil, and eggs.
- Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake as directed.
- Let the cake cool completely.
2. Prepare Cake Balls:
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
- Add cream cheese frosting to the crumbs and mix until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into small balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Freeze the cake balls for about 15 minutes to firm up.
3. Melt the Candy Coating:
- Melt orange, white and green candy melts according to package instructions.
4. Assemble Cake Pops:
- Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into melted candy and insert it halfway into a cake ball.
- Dip the cake ball into the melted orange or white candy coating until fully covered. Gently tap off the excess.
- Place the cake pop in a styrofoam block or a cake pop stand to dry.
5. Decorate:
- Once the orange and white coating is set, use a piping bag or a small spoon to pipe or drizzle green candy melts to resemble pumpkin vines and leaves.
6. Serve:
- Let the cake pops set completely before serving.
