🦐 Shrimp and Cream Cheese Wontons
Ingredients:
8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
½ cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
2 tablespoons minced white onion
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
12 wonton wrappers
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped shrimp, minced onion, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Assemble the Wontons:
Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.
Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water.
Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal.
Optional: Bring the two opposite corners of the triangle together and seal with a bit of water to create a traditional wonton shape.
Fry the Wontons:
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully add the wontons in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3 minutes.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve:
Serve the wontons hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
