Craving Comfort? Try Cheesy Steak & Shrimp Loaded Mashed Potatoes!
Ingredients:
3 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed, 3 tbsp unsalted butter, 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet), cut into cubes, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined, 1 tsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp lemon juice, 1 cup broccoli florets, steamed, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions:
1. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes until they're tender. Once done, drain and gently mash them with the butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
2. In a pan over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Sear them for 3-4 minutes until nicely browned, add the butter, and cook for another minute.
3. For the shrimp, heat some olive oil in another pan over medium heat. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
4. Steam the broccoli for about 3-4 minutes until it's tender, seasoning it simply with salt and black pepper.
5. In a saucepan, melt some butter over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and warm for 1-2 minutes, then stir in the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper until it's smooth and creamy.
6. To plate, spread your delicious mashed potatoes on a plate, top them with the steamed broccoli, seared steak, and shrimp, and generously pour that creamy cheese sauce over everything. Enjoy!
