Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough:

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, orange zest, cinnamon, and ginger.
Add the cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut it into the flour until the mixture looks like large crumbs.
In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla.
Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, stirring until mostly combined.
Add cranberries and mix until the dough is well combined.
2. Shape and Chill:

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and form a large disc about 1 inch thick.
Place the disc on a parchment-lined baking sheet and put it in the freezer while preheating the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
3. Bake:

Mix together egg and water for the egg wash.
Once the oven is preheated, brush the scones with the egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Cut the disc into 8 equal wedges and bake for 22-25 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Make the Glaze:

In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, orange juice, vanilla, and salt.
Add heavy cream as needed to achieve the desired consistency.
Once the scones are cooled, drizzle the glaze over them and top with the remaining orange zest.
