For the Caramel Frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:
3/4 cup pecan halves
Extra caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet, alternating with milk.
