Old-Fashioned Sugar Cream Pie
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
¼ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
Ground nutmeg (for topping)

Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, flour, and salt. Whisk until well blended. Gradually add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth and fully combined.

Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Sprinkle a light dusting of ground nutmeg over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is lightly golden.

Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow it to fully set.

For a richer flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of bourbon or rum to the filling before baking. You can also substitute the vanilla extract with almond extract for a different twist. If you prefer a crustless version, simply bake the filling in a greased pie dish.
