Seared Garlic Steak Cubes Over Buttery Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients:
1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
1 ½ pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
¼ cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons butter (for mash)
Salt to taste
Directions:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain well.
Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or ricer, then stir in butter, heavy cream, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy. Keep warm.
While the potatoes cook, season steak pieces with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add steak bites in a single layer and sear for about 1–2 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove from pan and set aside.
Reduce heat to medium, add 4 tablespoons butter to the same pan. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Return steak bites to the pan and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Remove from heat.
Serve steak bites over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
