🍞 Churro Stuffed French Toast with Cinnamon Sugar 🍯
A decadent breakfast twist with a crispy cinnamon-sugar crust and a sweet, creamy filling inside!
Ingredients:
4 thick slices of bread (preferably challah or brioche)
2 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp butter (for frying)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for the cinnamon sugar coating)
1/2 cup maple syrup (optional)
Directions:
In a small bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
Spread the cream cheese mixture generously between two slices of bread to create a sandwich.
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and 1 tsp cinnamon until fully combined.
Heat butter in a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Dip each stuffed sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated, and cook in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
While the French toast is cooking, mix the granulated sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Once the French toast is cooked, immediately dip each side into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
Serve hot with maple syrup and enjoy!
