Traditional Irish Farmhouse Soup with Bacon and Cabbage 🍵
A simple, rustic soup inspired by Irish farmhouse kitchens.
Ingredients:
4 slices thick-cut bacon, diced 🥓
1 leek, sliced 🥗
2 carrots, diced 🥕
4 large potatoes, diced 🥔
1/2 head cabbage, chopped 🥬
4 cups chicken or vegetable broth 🍲
Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
Fresh parsley, for garnish 🌿
Instructions:
Cook Bacon:
Cook bacon in a large pot until crispy. Remove and set aside.
Sauté Vegetables:
Add leek, carrots, and potatoes to the pot. Cook until softened.
Simmer Soup:
Add broth, cabbage, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20–25 minutes.
Serve:
Garnish with parsley and crispy bacon.
