Garlic Butter Steak & Shrimp Plate with Asparagus 🥩🍤
Classic surf & turf with a fresh, elegant twist!
📝 Ingredients:
1 New York strip steak (or ribeye, ~8 oz)
6–8 large shrimp, peeled & deveined (tails on)
2 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & black pepper to taste
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 cup mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
6–8 asparagus spears, trimmed
1 lemon wedge, for serving
🍽️ Directions:
1️⃣ Cook the Steak:
Pat steak dry, season with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steak for 3–4 minutes per side (or to your preferred doneness). Let rest before slicing.
2️⃣ Sauté the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, melt butter and add garlic. Sauté shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and curled. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
3️⃣ Steam or Roast Asparagus:
Steam asparagus until tender-crisp, or roast at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
4️⃣ Prepare the Base:
Spoon mashed potatoes onto the plate, smoothing them into a bed for the steak and shrimp.
5️⃣ Assemble & Serve:
Slice steak and plate over mashed potatoes alongside shrimp and asparagus. Spoon garlic butter from the pan over top. Garnish with lemon and extra herbs.
