Here’s my take on Royal Icing
I make Royal Icing the day before which allows the air bubbles to rise to the top.
The corn syrup adds a shine and softer bite.
I add divide my batch up in airtight bowls and color as needed.
For bright white I use the smallest amount of purple to my white use a tip of a toothpick.
When im coloring the icing. The purple cancels out the yellow.
For black I use black cocoa in my icing when I’m mixing in the smaller bowl. The black cocoa allows you to use less coloring and it tastes better.
Your color needs to be either water based coloring
Or
I like Master Elite powder colors
They are amazing for those hard to achieve colors.
Remember you can always add more coloring. For harder deeper colors try microwaving in 15 second intervals, this will help to achieve color quicker. Be careful not to overcook it.
As the color ages over night it will darken.
