Garlic Parmesan Herb Bread
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
2 teaspoons (1 packet) instant dry yeast
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
Instructions:
Activate the Yeast:
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes foamy.
Mix the Dough:
Add olive oil, salt, flour, Parmesan, garlic powder, basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape the Loaf:
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Second Rise:
Cover the pan and let the dough rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until it is puffy.
Bake the Bread:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
Cool & Serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
Notes:
For extra flavor, brush the top of the bread with melted butter and a sprinkle of garlic powder before baking.
Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
