Marry Me Chicken Pasta
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 slices bacon, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Cooked pasta, for serving
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions:
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove bacon from skillet and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour chicken broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, dried basil, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes, if using. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
Return cooked chicken breasts and bacon to the skillet, turning to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
Serve the chicken and sauce over cooked pasta, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
