Strawberry Pretzel Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup melted butter
3 tablespoons sugar
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces whipped topping
1 package (6 ounces) strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup strawberry compote
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake the pretzel crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
Spread third of the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, ensuring the edges are sealed well to prevent the gelatin layer from seeping through.
Spread the strawberry compote evenly over the cream cheese layer.
Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture over the strawberry compote layer.
In another bowl, dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in the sliced strawberries. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before pouring over the top cream cheese layer.
Refrigerate the dessert until the gelatin layer is firm, about 2 hours.
Cut into squares and serve chilled.
