Just whipped up a batch of these nostalgic Homemade Hostess Cupcakes! They’re even better than what you remember from your lunchbox days. 🧁🍫💕
Ingredients:

For the cupcakes:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup buttermilk
For the filling:

1 cup marshmallow creme
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the ganache:

1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
For the icing:

1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Alternately whisk in the flour mixture and buttermilk until just combined.
Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full and bake for 15-18 minutes. Let cool completely.
For the filling, beat marshmallow creme, butter, and vanilla until smooth. Cut a small hole in the bottom of each cupcake and pipe in the filling.
For the ganache, heat cream until simmering, then pour over chocolate chips. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth. Dip the top of each cupcake into the ganache.
Mix icing ingredients until smooth and pipe a swirl on top of each cupcake once the ganache has set.
