Chorizo & Pepper Jack Cheeseburger Alfredo Fire
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
1/2 pound chorizo sausage, casings removed
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or more, to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns
4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
Optional toppings: bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and chorizo together, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.
2. Add the chopped onion and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Stir in the thawed and squeezed spinach, cream of mushroom soup, milk, Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
4. While the Alfredo sauce simmers, prepare the hamburger buns according to package directions, if applicable.
5. To assemble the burgers: Spread a generous amount of the chorizo and pepper jack Alfredo sauce on the bottom half of each bun.
6. Top with a cooked beef and chorizo patty. (You can form the meat mixture into 4 patties before cooking or simply layer it on the buns after step 3)
7. Add a slice of Pepper Jack cheese to each burger. If using, add other desired toppings like bacon, lettuce, tomato, or avocado.
8. Top with the remaining bun halves.
