Old Time Peach Cobbler
Ingredients:
- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.
4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
5. Stir in milk until just combined.
6. Pour the batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
7. Drizzle the melted butter over the batter.
8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
