Well, this was the easiest soup I've ever made and it's absolutely delicious!! Frozen wontons will now be a staple in my freezer for this soup specifically.
10c chicken broth
3 slices ginger
3 crushed garlic cloves
3tbsp soy sauce
2tsp seseme oil (I measure seseme oil with my heart because I LOVE that shit.)
Bit of fish sauce or oyster or whatever funky Asian sauce you got in your fridge, it'll all work, mostly.
Handful of green onions
Wontons
Add broth ingredients to pot, bring to boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Remove ginger and garlic and add frozen wontons. Cook until wontons are done (they'll float). Top with whatever your heart desires and enjoy!!
Edited to add that I have topped my soup with carrots, Cilantro, green onions, basil and additional soy sauce and seseme oil. Often with simple brothy Asian soups, the toppings are where your soup will shine. The hot broth will gently cook and soften your toppings, adding flavor but without changing the basic profile of the broth itself.
