Apple Galette with Cardamom

Ingredients:

1 refrigerated pie crust
2-3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Turbinado sugar, for sprinkling
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the pie crust on the prepared baking sheet.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
Arrange the apple mixture in the center of the pie crust, leaving a border of about 2 inches.
Fold the edges of the pie crust over the apples, pleating as needed to create a rustic galette shape.
Brush the edges of the pie crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
