Crab Salad Cheese Ball or Spread
Ingredients:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 cup cooked crab meat (or imitation crab), chopped
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
¼ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
½ cup chopped pecans or parsley (for coating, if making a cheese ball)
Instructions:
For a Cheese Ball:
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
Fold in the crab meat, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, and Old Bay seasoning (if using).
Form the mixture into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 1 hour.
Roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans or parsley before serving.
Serve with crackers or sliced baguette.
For a Spread:
Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
Instead of forming a ball, transfer the mixture to a serving dish and spread evenly.
Sprinkle with chopped pecans, parsley, or additional cheddar cheese on top if desired.
Serve immediately or refrigerate for an hour for better flavor.
