Salted Caramel Banana Bread

Ingredients:

- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

For the salted caramel:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in the sour cream.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

6. In a saucepan over medium heat, make the salted caramel:
- Melt the sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a deep amber color.
- Add the butter carefully (it will bubble up). Stir until smooth.
- Remove from heat and slowly whisk in the heavy cream. Add sea salt.
- Let it cool slightly.

7. Drizzle some salted caramel over the banana bread batter. Use a knife to swirl it gently into the batter.

8. Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle more salted caramel on top before serving.
