Creamy Chicken Lasagna with White Sauce
Ingredients:
• 9 lasagna sheets
• 2 cups shredded cooked chicken 🐓
• 3 cups whole milk 🥛
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter 🧈
• 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
• 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese 🧀
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp onion powder
• 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped 🌿
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
• 1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.
2. Cook lasagna sheets according to the package instructions. Drain and lay them flat on a clean kitchen towel to prevent sticking.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until a smooth paste forms. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens. Add garlic powder, onion powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
4. Mix the shredded chicken with 1/2 cup of the prepared white sauce in a separate bowl.
5. Spread a thin layer of white sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer with 3 lasagna sheets, followed by the chicken mixture, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella. Repeat the layers, ending with a generous layer of white sauce and cheese on top.
6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.
7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
