Stacked bacon cheeseburger-style dish!
Ingredients:
For the Meat Layers:
2 lbs ground beef (or a mix of ground beef and pork)
1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
For the Cheese Layers:
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese you prefer)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
For Assembly:
1/4 cup cooked bacon crumbles (for topping)
Additional shredded cheddar cheese (to top)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Meat:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion softens, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crumbled bacon, salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder (if using). Set aside.
2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and well combined.
3. Layer the Dish:
In a baking dish (preferably 9x9 inches or 9x13 inches, depending on the size), spread a thin layer of the meat mixture on the bottom.
Add a layer of the cheese mixture, then another layer of the meat.
Repeat the layers, ending with a top layer of the cheese mixture. You may sprinkle extra cheddar cheese on top.
4. Bake:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
5. Add the Toppings:
Once the dish is done baking, remove from the oven.
Top with additional bacon crumbles and more shredded cheese if desired.
6. Serve:
Let the dish sit for a few minutes to set before slicing and serving.
Tips:
You can add cooked pasta layers to make it even more like a lasagna, or skip the pasta to keep it low-carb.
Feel free to mix in other types of cheese or even some vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for added flavor.
Enjoy your indulgent bacon cheeseburger lasagna creation!
