For the Cake:

1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour 🌾
1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar 🧂
3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
1 1/2 tsp baking powder 🧁
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt 🧂
2 large eggs 🥚🥚
1 cup (240ml) whole milk 🥛
1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil 🌻
2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
1 cup (240ml) boiling water 🔥
For the Frosting:

1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened 🧈
3 1/2 cups (440g) powdered sugar 🍬
1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
1/4 cup (60ml) milk 🥛
2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

Prepare the Batter:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix on medium speed until smooth.
Stir in the boiling water (batter will be thin).
