Lemon Cream Cheese Brownies
Ingredients:
For the brownie base:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the cream cheese layer:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest, mixing until combined.
Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just incorporated. Spread half the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
In another bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, lemon juice, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
Pour the cream cheese layer over the lemon brownie batter. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the center is set and edges are lightly golden. Cool completely before slicing.
Chill for 1 hour before serving for clean cuts and firmer texture.
