Velveeta Bowtie Pasta with Garlic Parmesan Cajun Cream Sauce and Chicken
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
1 pound bowtie pasta
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
8 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
1.In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning. Make sure each piece is well coated for maximum flavor.
2.Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Set aside.
3.While the chicken is cooking, cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.
4.In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic!
5.Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. This will help thicken the sauce.
6.Gradually whisk in the milk, making sure there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
7.Reduce the heat to low and add the Velveeta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and cream cheese. Stir until all the cheeses are melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
8.Season with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
9.Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and toss to coat. Make sure every piece of pasta is covered in that delicious sauce.
10. Add the cooked chicken to the pasta and cheese sauce. Stir gently to combine and heat through.
11. Serve immediately and enjoy every creamy, cheesy, savory bite!
