Gooey Chocolate Toffee Squares
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup toffee bits
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour and cocoa powder. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
5. Gently fold in chocolate chips and toffee bits, reserving a handful for topping.
6. Pour batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle reserved chocolate chips and toffee bits on top.
7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
8. Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
