Perfectly Seared Steak Topped with Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce 🍤🔥🥩
Ready in 30 minutes, a flavor explosion!
Ingredients:
2 6-ounce sirloin steaks
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Cajun seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, loosely tented with foil, for at least 5 minutes.
3. While the steaks rest, melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, whisk in the flour until smooth. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, green onions, and lemon juice. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and simmer for 1-2 minutes, to coat them in the sauce.
6. Slice the rested steaks and arrange them on plates. Top with the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce and serve immediately. Enjoy!
