Luxurious Black Velvet Cake

🍰✨ Indulge in the rich, velvety goodness of this Luxurious Black Velvet Cake! With its deep, dark color and ultra-moist texture, it's a showstopper dessert perfect for any special occasion! 🖤🎂

Ingredients:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

2 cups sugar

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 ½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 ½ cups buttermilk

1 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp white vinegar

½ cup hot water

2 tbsp black food coloring (optional, for deeper color)

For the Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and vinegar.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Slowly pour in the hot water and black food coloring (if using), mixing until smooth and fully combined. The batter will be thin—this is normal!

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

While the cakes are cooling, make the frosting. Beat the cream cheese and butter together until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream, continuing to beat until smooth and creamy.

Once the cakes are completely cool, frost the top of one layer with a generous amount of frosting. Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.

For an extra touch, decorate the cake with chocolate shavings or edible gold leaf for a truly luxurious finish!
