Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Ingredients:
1 ½ lbs ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and black pepper to taste
6 hoagie rolls, sliced
6 slices provolone cheese
2 tbsp butter (optional, for toasting rolls)
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced peppers and onions, and cook until soft and slightly caramelized, about 7-8 minutes. Add garlic in the last minute of cooking. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through.
Add the sautéed vegetables back into the skillet and stir to combine with the steak.
Lay provolone cheese slices on top of the steak mixture and allow it to melt slightly.
Optional: Lightly butter hoagie rolls and toast in a separate skillet or under a broiler for a golden crust.
Fill each roll generously with the steak, peppers, and melted cheese. Serve hot!
